Writing my first blog post ever is a special experience. I feel like I could write about nearly anything in the world and at the same time I know, that my first post is going to define, what this blog might look like in the future. So what can you expect?
This site is all about my passion – the photography. Sometimes, photographs only will be telling the whole story and sometimes a short narrative will be visualized in the featured images. Many of you, who are reading this post right now are photographers or photography enthusiasts so there will be also some technical informations like EXIF-data or further details to photo gear or technique being used. Please, feel free to comment on the posts and give any kind of feedback. I would be glad to hear from you!
Christmas is a holiday that persecutes the lonely, the frayed, and the rejected.
The Christmas illumination of the old city of Bern radiates coziness and warmth. Paradoxically, exactly the holiday season is a rough time for the “lonely souls in the city”, as I call them in this post. The Beggars, the outcasts, people struggling with addictions, buskers from Romania trying to earn few Francs with their music in the “wealthy Switzerland”… The list goes on and on. And they are not just in Berne, every city in this world knows them.
We don’t have to be the starry-eyed idealists to make a little change in our personal surrounding. All it needs sometimes is just to greet someone, ask how he/she is doing or offering a warm drink. Don’t walk away if something draws you to do something like that in this holiday season. You never know, what impact this little actions can have on the lonely souls in the city.
